He is Risen! Yes, He is Risen indeed! Jesus defeated death and rose with all power in his hands! Seriously, take a moment and let that sink in! The disciples were not expecting it, their faith was crushed! No one could even image that anyone could come back after witnessing the brutal crucifixion that Jesus went though. In fact, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome, rose early headed to the tomb. These women were not expecting to encounter a living savior but to mourn the loss of a dear friend. They were going to pay their last respects but were interrupted with the greatest news flash known to humanity; He has risen! He is not here. Jesus’ resurrection confirmed that the price for all of our sins was paid in full and in Christ, we have been placed in a right relationship together with God.
Read Mark 16:1-20

2. In Jesus’s time, women would not have been consider to be a creditable witness, what does it mean to you that Jesus would use a woman to carry and share the most important news of all concerning the resurrection of Jesus?
3. Why should Jesus’ resurrection give us hope? Ref: 1 Corinthians 15:12-19
4. Romans 8:11 states that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you? What implications does this have in your life today?
During Sunday’s message, Pastor Donearl referenced Hebrews 2:9 which mentioned that by the grace of God, Jesus taste death for everyone. Yes, he paid the price for you and me. Also, in verses 10-11 of the same passage, the writer explains that this great sacrificial act has brought us together in the same family and Jesus is not ashamed to call us brothers and sisters! In Christ, we belong together with God and one another. Let’s live our lives in response of his amazing grace.
